Adopt a Poodle (Toy) (long coat)

Still learning to trust, Rainy came to us from auction at the beginning of November with her cage mate Ramzi.  She is a 9 lb, 7.5 year old toy poodle that spent the last 7.5 years in a cage with the sole purpose of making puppies.  When she arrived at her fosters home she tried to melt into the wall that she pressed herself into just so she could disappear.  She had a vacant look in her eyes and would follow her cage mate wherever she went.  As time progressed, her cage mate has gotten braver and Rainy has had to venture into life out of the cage at her own, slower, pace.  She has gained life in her eyes and gets brave at times but is taking a bit longer to adjust to life as a pet. She is working on potty training and is getting much better, but wears a diaper so her foster mom can allow her to get comfortable with her new surroundings and not worry about accidents.  Because of her skittishness, Rainy will require a fenced in yard.  Her first impulse will be to run if she gets spooked.  Rainy’s past has caused her to rely heavily on another dog. To ensure a happy life in her new home she will need another dog to guide her.  She is UTD on her vaccinations, is microchipped, dewormed, has been given flea and tick prevention and has been spayed and had a dental.

We will do our best to respond to any and all requests and contacts as soon as possible, but we are a 100% volunteer run rescue. It is great because that means we can keep our adoption prices low because we are not paying salaries, but all of our volunteers do have families and "real" jobs in order to support our passion of saving animals from euthanasia often just days or hours before they are scheduled to be put to sleep. That being said, one of us are going to do our best to contact via email or by phone within 24 hours of any inquiry. It is not uncommon that when you have made the decision to add to your family and committing to adopting a rescue dog that you are very excited, we just ask that you be patient with us.
